Head of Audio and Audiovisual Design Group and Architectural Acoustics
Dept. Responsible for all marketing and management of engineering
design and consulting services relating to audio, audiovisual and
architectural acoustics projects.
1982 1994
New Jersey Communications, Kenilworth, New Jersey. Senior Project
Engineer for management and design of all types of commercial audio,
video, CCTV, MATV, audiovisual, teleconferencing and videoconferencing
projects. Engineering responsibilities included all project related
design work; dictating of fabrication practices; fabrication and installation
supervision; final system check-out; tuning and/or fine adjustment.
Management responsibilities included review of all project contracts
and specification; 100 percent of project-related contact with owner,
end user, and various contractors and consultants; negotiating of
project-related problems, be they technical, logistical, or financial,
with same. Responsible as an in-house acoustics expert. Consulted
on acoustical design of William Carlos William Center for the Performing
Arts. Head of computer department and manual drafting department.
Implemented change to all CAD system in 1988.

Consulting Engineers in Acoustics. Lead and Staff Consulting Engineer
on industrial, architectural, and environmental noise projects; vibration
analysis and control projects; forensic acoustics; architectural acoustics
design projects. Responsibilities included proposal preparation; machine
and process analysis; development of acoustics related computer software;
design and implementation of measurement, noise control, and OSHA
monitoring programs; working with architects on theater and office
design to insure proper acoustical environment for space use; preparation
of results and findings to both technical and non-technical persons;
and marketing. Architectural projects included office privacy assessment;
HVAC isolation in office and studio environments; mechanical systems
isolation; and meeting and conference room acoustics.
1979 1980
Donley, Miller & Nowikas, East Hanover, New Jersey. Staff
Engineer involved in data collection, reduction, and analysis on both
industrial and environmental noise projects. Responsible for calibration
and up-keep of laboratory and field equipment used in acoustical engineering.
Experienced with acoustical analysis equipment ranging from sound
level meters to narrow band spectrum analyzers.
